Edward Sobczewski was born on July 18th, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. His parents came to America in 1949 from Europe after World War II with 2 daughters and 1 son.
In 1978 (on his 17th birthday) Edward joined the US Marines, which made him the youngest US Marine to enter and serve in the armed services. During his military career he received several awards and medals including 2 meritorious commendations for excellence in his field, 300 maximum score for physical fitness test and expert rifle and pistol shooter. In 1980 he was assigned to go under cover with NIS (Naval Intelligence Service) for which he received a private award accommodation for duty above and beyond the call of service, from then base Commander Col. Braun.
